In this 3 guest post series, we get to know a little bit about Terrance Williams, A recent and avid client of our brand, Nubian Skin. Our 1st post is a brief interview about his experience shopping from us
1) Please tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Terrance Williams! I am a small business owner and content creator. My business is Terrance Williams Designs and I design and sew ethically sourced and sustainably produced clothing and accessories. I advocate for human rights and sustainability through my line where I make everything to be size inclusive and genderless!
2) How did you find out about our Black British brand?
I was searching for more Black owned brands that I could support and through my Google search and a ton of articles mentioning Nubian Skin, I took it as a sign to support and purchase a few things!
3) What do you love most about Nubian Skin?
I love that the brand focuses on making items specifically for people of color. We don’t get represented in the nude market at all, so it is amazing that we have pieces for our skin tone! But I also love how inclusive the brand is and how you don’t necessarily have to be Black or a person of color in order to purchase from the brand. Anyone can wear and style all of the pieces
4) How was your experience purchasing womenswear? Did you convert sizing from our size guide or with customer care?
I definitely utilized the size guide and I reached out to customer service to ask them a few questions! Living in the United States our sizing is different and to get the best fit I wanted to make sure that I was headed in the right direction! It was all very helpful and I was able to purchase everything in the correct sizing!
5) How did you find your shade? Did you match to a foundation you use?
I went by the shade guide on the website! I am a cinnamon and looking through all of the models and the product pictures, I picked the model that I figured that I was closest to and it worked out!
6) We love how you style our Naked bodysuit! What would you say is your favourite way of styling her?
I love using the bodysuit as a layering piece! I have these faux leather pants that I love to wear them with during the fall and I will put an open cardigan or a duster over top. For the spring and summer I love doing the same thing except I wear it with some cute denim shorts and a duster over top.
I make and design the dusters and I love wearing it with a belt. It just gives the illusion that I’m not wearing anything underneath. But I’m completely covered. So it’s fun and sexy while still being covered.
7) What is your favourite collection from Nubian Skin past or present?
I think the naked collection is a tried and true classic for the brand and the most versatile and accessible for people. I also am absolutely loving the new Jaiye Collection and can’t wait to get my hands on a few pieces!
