The Skin-tones: Sweet, Sweet "Cinnamon" Buns

Cinnamon Buns
The second in our profile of Nubian Skin skin-tones is Cinnamon.  A little bit sweet and little bit spicy.

Cinnamon is our medium-dark shade, and is probably best suited for those who use the below foundation shades or similar. Again, these are just guidelines, so please use your own discretion.

Are you considering any brick and mortar sales? I have been fitting bras and prosthetics for women in Torrance for almost 14 years and have lots of women of color as clients. I would love to investigate getting in on the ground floor as a fitter of your product.

I use L'oreal True Match foundation in No 8 (cappuccino) do you think this would a likely true match?

Also will you be shipping to the UK?

We are UK-based and will be shipping worldwide. Unfortunately we cannot suggest a match for ever shade of foundation, but hopefully the guidelines and the images of the models we have provided should help.

I think this is definitely a good match for you based on that foundation. I've used it and cinnamon is my color!

  • […] Like all incendiary ideas, Nubian Skin began with a thought, a “what if…” It’s also breaking a pattern, where we wait for someone who doesn’t look like us to create something just for us. One of the things I adore about their marketing is that they are making it easy for us to choose the nude that works best for us based on our foundation shades. (See Berry and Cinnamon.) […]

I am a very pale caucasian woman, but I am also looking forward to your launch and being able to purchase some of your beautiful lingerie (even if I can't wear it under a white blouse;) with my skin tone) I can still support a company that finally provides a selection of skin tone colors that celebrates the fact that not everyone is beige! :) I have to admit I am absolutely in LOVE with the floral patterns: sexy, classy, understated, and beautiful.

Let me know when you get larger bra sizes. A lot of us aren't really plus size but have large breast. I know you had to start somewhere but don't forget your D, DD, and DDD size ladies.

Really excited by the potential of this brand. Will you be carrying Thigh high's? I used to get my shade from Hanes in their Transparent Sheer line but that has seemingly stopped ( I am somewhere between the first and second shade I think). I am from Guyana in South America which is tropical and thus too humid for full hosiery ( for me anyway lol). Can't wait to see what you have to offer!!

PS also loving that us tiny breast gals are being represented here :).

I am 19 year old student who enjoys fashion and has an eye for detail when dealing with materials and style. I have sketched up many designs of underwear/lingerie, hosiery and swimwear and would like to team up with Nubian skin to possibly draw up a new set of underwear or discuss the ones I have already drawn. I feel as though your may enjoy my line of work. Would love to hear from you Eya

    Hello!
Sorry because i Will write in french.

    Hi there,

I'm so excited about this product line. I can't wait to be able to buy it - hopefully the prices will be attainable for the general population.

Meanwhile, have you considered including Sephora foundation in the guidelines? I've heard (even from the ladies at Mac) that it's one of THE most popular foundations for women of color because of the variety they offer. I've had a ton of trouble finding the perfect shade from my skin tone and was relieved when I found Hazelnut, D40 from Sephora that matched perfectly. And perfectly is an under-statement.

    Thanks

Two questions I wear Mac NC45 what shade would that fall into? Secondly, will your bra size include those with a smaller back but larger bust?

    • moimeme

it's really hard to find bra my size although my bust isnt so large/big. with a underbust of 65/67cm (26") and bust 82cm (32") I should be wearing a 26 E ou 28 DD.
