In addition to the physical and emotional trauma of undergoing cancer treatment, many women are left with body image and confidence insecurities, especially after a mastectomy. The UK's First Breast Cancer Softies: Soft Prostheses for WOC
In partnership with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Natalie Johnson, Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon, and Sarah Adomah, Lead Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust Breast Cancer Team, Nubian Skin created the UK’s first softies in a variety of skin tones following funding from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and the feedback so far has been tremendous.

Our breast prostheses are designed to address the specific needs of women of color who have undergone mastectomy surgery. We recognize that skin tone and breast size varies greatly among different ethnicities, and our prostheses are tailored to fit a range of skin tones and body shapes, with 4 tones of darker nudes, and 7 different softie sizes, that can fit over 80 bra sizes.

We worked closely with the Royal Marsden medical staff to ensure that our prostheses are medically safe and effective, as well as comfortable and easy to wear. Our soft prostheses are made from high-quality, breathable Organic Cotton that is gentle on sensitive skin, post-operatively. They are padded out with medical grade fibrefill which you can adjust the capacity of using the fold-over closure at the back of the softie to create your perfect fullness, day-to-day. They are designed to fit securely and comfortably in any mastectomy and non-mastectomy bra, and they are also machine washable and durable, so women can wear them with confidence and ease.
